Sam Jeffereys
Artist in Association

Sam Jefferys studied at the Bournemouth Arts Institute where he read illustration and now lives and works in Archway, North London. His painting is inspired by street art and evokes the atmosphere and symbols of the metropolitan underworld. His lyrical approach to landscape is often starkly juxtaposed with vibrant, angry and bold shapes, mainly on large, imposing canvasses. In his ever evolving technique, playful and almost childlike etchings and blocks contrast with a sharply satirical talent for depicting the human face.

His recent 'fish' pictures recall Paul Klee, and in Sam's Art we find nature and the city are in constant combat. His work is exhibited with Katrina Philips on Portabella Road at "Rare and Unusual Interiors" in London. He has recently completed three portraits of the Princess of Kuwait alongside various private commissions.
