'The Salisbury Song: A Pub Opera'

Love, Loss and Lager

MUSIC: OWEN BOURNE ~
LIBRETTO: NICK PERRY ~
ART DESIGN: SAM JEFFERYS

- POTENT ADULT CHAMBER OPERA AT ITS BEST -

“If you thought that the passionate lives and violent deaths of opera
are best found in Covent Garden or La Scala, then think again…”
Time Out

Performed at the Hackney Empire and The Salisbury Hotel (London N4),  this truly unique collaboration tells the salacious story of real Salisbury pub-goers dead and alive in tales of greed, corruption, sex and tragedy. The whole is united by the common theme of love in all its manifestations.

This programme unites the 50 minute opera with modern arrangements of Renaissance English Songs including Purcell’s ‘Bess of Bedlam’ from the ‘Mad Songs’.This highly adaptable entertainment package suits a main show or post concert spectacular.

 - The lyrics are not suitable for children -
